Germany to Apple and Google: Drop that Chinese AI app

Germany just warned Apple and Google that the Chinese chatbot app DeepSeek is basically spyware. The app’s sending user data straight to China, where the government can snoop without needing permission.

DeepSeek ignored Germany's request to fix it, so now Berlin's using EU laws to force Apple and Google to yank it. Germany skipped the fine, because good luck collecting that from a Chinese startup.
