Netflix plans to introduce generative AI ads midway through streams starting in 2026. This move aims to boost ad revenue as the company tests various ad formats, including interactive mid-roll and pause ads. Since launching its ad-supported subscription tier in November 2022, Netflix has gained 94 million ad subscribers, with many opting for the lower-priced plan.
The company intends to double its advertising revenue in 2025 and expects the pace of its ad initiatives to accelerate in the coming years.
